#20763, A Krieghoff (Sempert & Krieghoff) Suhl Made Sidelock 1940 Over & Under Combination Gun in 20 Bore over 22 Savage High-Power (5.6 x 52R & so marked), It has all the Quality Sidelock features of typical pre-war Suhl made guns, Built on the trades best 300 series action with double under lugs and double bite with a Kersten cross bolt top lock just like a Merkel 303, Complete with a 22 Long Rifle Insert for the 20 bore barrel, 25 1/2" Extractor Special Gewehr Krupp steel barrels at .630 .024" (Full), 2 3/4" chamber, Bolstered frame, Solid rib with 1 folding rear sight for both the rifle and shot barrel, Original scope mount bases and marked Krieghoff with Sako 1" rings that are detachable, Leupold 1.5 x 5, Pivot lever safety bar on the left sidelock, Double triggers with the front a set trigger for the rifle barrel, Sling eyes with a very nice leather & canvas sling, Shadow line cheekpiece, 14" L.O.P. over a horn buttplate, 6 lbs. 15 oz. without the scope and 7 lbs. 13 oz. with, Excellent wood that is near Exhibition for the time period with super black/brown color and contrast, Fully engraved cartridge trap in the buttstock line, Horn trigger guard, It has 99% coverage of excellent relief engraving with Stag & Roebuck engraved on the sidelock plates and the balance in a floral motif, The original barrel blue at 97%, Original oil finish on the stock at 94%, The original skipline checkering at 98%, The shotgun bore is excellent plus & the rifle bore is excellent plus and looks like it did 76 years ago, A very high Quality Sidelock 1940 Suhl gun that remains in extremely nice condition for a 76 year old gun. Plus all this and top it off with a fun American cartridge with a 20 bore on top. Very neat stuff.
