Description:
Serial #169193 (17148 on butt), .45 ACP, 5 1/2” barrel with a fine bore that has a miniscule amount of freckling within the grooves. This is a 1918-made, “GHS” inspected revolver that retains 85-90% of the original brushed blue finish with mild silvering and fading at the muzzle and on the exposed edges and surfaces. Some spots of mild freckling with small areas of pinprick pitting are scattered about the surface of the frame, barrel, and cylinder, and the gripstraps have faded to a pewter gray patina. The hammer and trigger have most of their original blue remaining, and the walnut grips, numbered to the gun on the interior, have scattered small handling marks and minor surface blemishes in the original oil finish. The lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. This is a handsome example of a World War I Model 1917 and rates fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
