Description:
1st year production Winchester 1892 Rifle, serial number 1337, chambered in .44 W.C.F.. The rifle is fitted with the optional 24 inch octagon barrel, standard full length tube magazine, standard steel crescent butt-plate, and the standard color case-hardened butt-plate, lever and hammer. It is in excellent original condition retaining about 98% original blue on the barrel and magazine tube and about 80-85% original blue on the frame. The hammer retains 75% of its original color case-hardening, the lever about 60%, and the butt-plate faint traces. The bore is bright with sharp rifling and the action functions as new. The stock and forearm, which fit the barrel, butt-plate, frame and forearm cap tightly, retain most all of their original finishes, with minor handling marks and dings, no cracks or chips. All screw heads are mostly unmolested. The sights are original to the gun and are in excellent shape, except where the front sight has some tapping marks on the right side.
