For sale, a nice honest U.S. Army Colt Model 1917 chambered for the .45ACP cartridge. This Model 1917 is serial number 222530, putting it's manufacture date at 1919. This Colt 1917 is in good shape overall and excellent shape mechanically. As you can see in the pictures, the original Colt factory blue finish is still present in a lot of areas on the gun. The high edges and grip straps all show varying degrees of finish wear, but the overall patina of the Colt is very good looking. It appears that the majority of the wear that this pistol shows is from holster carry rather than hard use and/or neglect. The original walnut grips are in great shape with no cracks or repairs. They are nice and tight to the frame and they were fit well. Both the cylinder bores and the bore of the barrel are in good shape. The barrel shows a lot of life left with strong, sharp rifling. The action on this Colt 1917 is amazingly good. It functions perfectly in double action or single action firing. The cylinder locks up perfectly in-time and with zero play. If you have been looking for a nice all original Colt Model 1917 that would be both a good investment and fun to shoot, this is your chance!
