Bore is good to VG showing good rifling with spots of corrosion and mild darkening. Action is crisp and tight with perfect timing and lock-up. Barrel and lever show surface pitting but have sharp markings and edges - retain about 65% blue with some thinning. The cylinder is likely a period wartime replacement with perfect chambers, nipples, and safety pins - scene is exceptionally sharp and crisp - retains about 80% finish with some thinning and one spot of mild pitting. The frame is free of rust, pits, corrosion and has drifted to a gray patina with some areas of darkened case color - guard and backstrap are undamaged and have a nice mellow tone. Grips are undamaged with perfect fit to frame and retain about 85% - 90% finish. A very crisp Civil War production 1851 Navy in VG+ condition and except for the cylinder, all original and unaltered.
