Description: A dog lock 73" long "Punt Gun" musket with a 57" barrel with 7/8" bore. The breech measures 1 3/8" wide. Full stocked to the muzzle with no provision for triggerguard which is correct for this style. Reference: "Boarders Away 11" by Gilkerson at page 192. He made reference to these pieces as "Buccaneer pieces". These muskets were very common in Newfoundland and Maritime Canada as sea hunting pieces over a very extended period of time. This is a very good example of an original flint "Punt Gun" that came right out of NFLD.
