Description:
An unusual long barrel derringer most likely made by Deringer of Philadelphia. the overall length is 8" with a 4" long barrel. The action is good and there is 19th century chisel engraving on the lock and the German silver furniture. According to Flayderman's book many of these were made without markings so they could be sold to the Indians in the 1840's and 1850's . These hideaway guns were used by spies during the civil war also.The America walnut stock is good with age darkening, and has one age split near the left side lock screw. Comes with an early oak ram-rod. A very colorfull item that fits well into a 19th century weapon collection. We don’t have asite .I prefer money orders or a check. Item ships when funds come in.
