Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: RARELY ENCOUNTERED MODEL 1870 .50-70 TRAPDOOR CONVERSION RIFLE MADE FROM ALTERED CIVIL WAR MUSKETS, MUCH MORE SCARCE THAN THE MORE COMMON MODEL 1868, this was an improved version and only a little over 11,000 were made compared to 51,000 of the earlier Model 1868, has the correct shorter receiver ring ahead of the breech etc., 1870 dated breech block, nicely cartouched stock, this was the final .50 caliber trapdoor made from 1870-1873 with it was replaced with the famed 1873 .45-70 model, nice aged gray/brown barrel (these were finished in the "white" without being blued), exc. markings, stock shows normal handling and has a repair under the rear barrel band where the wood cracked- only visible by removing the barrel band, cleaning rod intact, exc. bore.
