Description:
Serial #384367, 7.65mm (.32 ACP), 3 1/4” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a Waffenamt marked, matching numbered pistol, and retains 92-95% of the original brushed blue finish with mild fading and silvering on both the slide and frame, most noticeably on the muzzle and gripstraps. Both the “(eagle)/N” proofs on the right side, and “(eagle)/37” on the left are crisp and clear. The non-original “S/u/S” black plastic grips are in excellent shape and have only a few minuscule handling marks and minor flattening of the points. The mechanism is tight and fully functional. The pistol is housed in a rare, original black fiberboard (“ersatz”) holster that was extensively labeled by a G.I. after its capture: “(??) Austria/(S/)Sgt. Howa(rd M.) Miller/352246(10)/Co. K, 260th (??)”, and “S/Sgt H.M.Miller”. The holster is in nearly excellent shape with only some minor delamination at the flex point of the cover flap, and a tear on one side of the leather closure tab. This is a very nice example of a wartime 38H and rates fine-near excellent condition with a rare fiberboard holster. A copy of Sgt. Miller's NARA printout is also included. FFL or C&R
