Description:
This de and recapping tool was patented Jan 23 1877 by Leonard Bailey, a rather well known Boston tool designer of the 19th Century, most famous for inventing the Bailey Planer, sold to the Stanley Tool Co in 1869 and still in business today. This tool retains 40% nickel plating and is missing the decapping pin. The wood case holder retains 90% oil finish with attractive grain. A very good example for the tool collector.
