Tony Galazan has produced many masterpieces in his Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing facility. His faithful reproduction of Ansley H. Fox’s fine shotguns are no exception, and his “EXHIBITION” quality renditions far exceed anything old Ansley H. Fox ever contemplated. With over-the-top engraving and gold inlays, masterful wood carvings and checkering patterns, and state-of-the-art materials, Galazan has brought us TRUE ART IN WORKING PLATFORMS. Shown here is a 2 gauge custom set ordered in 2002 and delivered in 2003. The special features list is impressive; actions are engraved in Italy at the Casarini house by W. Patelli, a world renowned master engraver...even the water table and back side of the forend irons are engraved! The frame is finely sculpted with bolsters on the bottom, beaded fences, fancy back scalloped frame, rebated to retain head of stock, gold wire inlays throughout the action, deeply carved and shaded bank note style scroll, very detailed gold inlaid ducks, grouse, and woodcock, pierced top lever and trigger guard, 100% gorgeous case color..simply stunning in every way. Both sets of barrels have detailed birds and game scenes engraved at the breech, with a ring of engraving with scroll at the muzzles, fancy gold wire inlaid to accent it all. Study the photos on our and you will be amazed at the depth and quality of the engraving. The wood carvings follow the theme of the engraving, on beautiful European marbled walnut. These Fox guns are made to shoot, for those so inclined, as the range of chokes and gauges will cover woodcock in the thick, to the gentleman's bobwhite and dove, to the quail and partridge species of the West, right up to late season wild pheasants and waterfowl with the 30" M/F choked barrels...any game you should choose to pursue, including some challenging clay targets. The 20 gauge barrels are 28" long. The gun weighs 5lbs. 11oz. with both the 16ga. and20ga. barrels. Of course, to order a set similar from CSMC today would cost tens of thousands more than our asking price, and the set is as new in the maker's case. This is an investment quality example of gun maker's art, a true collector's set representing the finest in American gun making. This 20/16ga. set is a match to another we have for sale in .410/28ga.
