Another vet bring back is this WWII German Mauser 98K CE 44, appearing complete and not importer marked. the barrel has clean shiny rifled bore, better than most I've seen in the past 40 years! the exterior metal is dark with age, and with slight frosting from storage , but careful cleaning will make it look better. Frame says MOD. 98, and SN is 1101d. Bolt has 3066, safety is 000, firing pin 3066, bolt knob is 3066, floor plate is 1101 as is front band.This gun has the front sight hood attached. Action is stiff from dried oil, and the composite wood stock is good, except for the stress lines behind the top tang, possibly because the barrel tang was not tightened enough and the recoil pushed the barrel and frame back to create the lines. These are not open splits and with a loose stock, but rather solid and tight, not open. Overall would make a good re-en actor war gun!
