Description:
#1530 S. North U.S. Model 1817 “Common Rifle”, dated 1826, and being a well done reconversion back to the flint system for either a collector purpose or for a shooter (or possibly both). It has a fine bore with deep strong rifling as well as throwing a good shower of sparks for a positive ignition. Real handsome appearance with fine metal and wood, VG markings on the lockplate, correct rear sight, iron patchbox stock, and distinctive finger tail triggerguard. Later style sling. For the collector/shooter who doesn’t want to cough up $3000-$3500 for a totally original Common Rifle in this condition, this reconvert is a very fine alternative at half the price. Fine++ $1650
