#1534 Remington Model 1867 No.1 military rifled musket, 43Spanish caliber, very fine bright bore with strong rifling (about an 8-9 on a scale of 10), VG action and very good markings. Very good smooth grey metal and very good wood, correct cleaning rod and correct sights. Overall just a very good plus rifle that most likely was sold domestically here in the U.S. for an inexpensive hunting rifle. The 43Spanish and 43Egyptian calibers were both very close in their ballistics and appearance to the VERY popular 44/77 Sharps BottleNeck …and are still a potent cartridge for a lot of big game.
