Sharps 1859 Cal .52 Percussion. Ser. 192XX.
Here's a Sharps that must have seen and made history. The condition is certainly not the greatest. All metal parts have mild surface flaking resulting in a soft gray patina.
The buttstock and forend still retain almost all of the original lacquer finish. There are only a few small surface nicks and dings. However, there are three small splits. One under the action and two on the forearm. They appear to be easy to repair.
All parts are correct and the gun operates properly.
Now for the amazing part. The bore, while there is some scattered light frost, is mirror bright with razor sharp rifling.
It would be a great on the range, for the re-enactor, and certainly a conversation piece over a fire place....$1995.
