Description:
The Marlin Model 1892 was made from 1892 to 1916 and could be ordered in many different configurations. The standard guns were fitted with a 16, 24, 26 or 28 inch round barrel, full length tubular magazine, open sights, plain straight stock, and were chambered in .22 S, L, or LR and .32 S or L rimfire or centerfire. This is a standard Marlin 1892 fitted with a 24 inch round barrel, full tube magazine, and steel crescent butt-plate. Overall the gun would grade about 80 to 85% with the barrel and magazine tube retaining about 90% of their original blue finish, the frame about 40%, the hammer and trigger retain about 40% of their original color case-hardened finish, and the stock and forearm retain most all of their original finishes, with assorted handling marks, dings and dents. The cresent butt-plate is turning a grey/brown patina. The take-down screw is in excellent condition and the side-plate comes off easliy and secures tightly. The sights are perfectly operable and are in near excellent condition. It has a bright bore with sharp rifling and the action functions perfectly and is tight.
