12-Bore Side by Side Shotgun by J. Blanch & Son, London, No. 4919. Signed on the lock plate, J. Blanch & Son and on the concave rib, J. Blanch & Son, 29 Gracechurch Street, London. An exceptionally late (circa early 1880s) 12 bore pinfire shotgun with Jones underlever and 30 inch damascus barrels A best quality gun with nicely engraved back action lock plates, trigger guards heal and toe plates and trim. The checkered walnut stock is very nicely grained. The gun is in good condition for it's age but the checkering is worn and the barrels could do with a rebrowning. The inside of the barrels are also somewhat pitted however they ring true (see photos). One of the hammers is a replacement but must have been down a long time ago as it hard to tell the difference.
