Description:
Colt model 1855 side hammer 28 caliber revolver better known as the "Root" model.This gun was built in 1856 and it retains 70% of the original fire blue finish.The hammer still retains at least 50% of the original case colors.The cylinder scene is still visible,although faint.The factory ivory grips have yellowed with age and have a few age cracks at the butt.The bore is good still showing strong rifling.The gun functiona perfectly with a strong hammer and the cylinder indexing properly.This pistol is in remarkable condition for its age.It comes with a black leather holster that is old,but not as old as the gun.This is a true collectible Colt that would make a fine addition to any collection.Classified as an antique so it can be shipped direct with proper ID.
