I would say this is an average condition for a Winchester 1873, unique gun though in that is has the cleaning rod in the but, and is in the scare Musket configuration. Original gun that has a shootable bore rating about a 6, finish has gone to mostly brown patina. Operation is butter smooth it has the cleaning rod in the butt stock and retains its original sights and dust cover. 1890 production Wood is original and shows the normal wear and tear one would expect including a crack to the right side of the forend and some dings and dishes. There is a stain on the left side of the butt stock i think it is paint. affordably priced example of the Winchester 1873 musket.
