Don Allen, the founder of Dakota built this rifle for me in 1996 at the height of Dakota's worldwide reputation for best quality rifles. This Safari grade 338 Win Mag has cake-marble exhibition English walnut hand selected by Don. This gun was built with a 23 1/2" Hart barrel with flip-up custom DG open sights, barrel band, Dakota drop box magazine and Talley field removable scope mounts. This rifle shoots very accurate groups. You will not find a Dakota 338 Win Mag for sale in this condition built by Don Allan. A very historical and rewarding gun to own and hunt. This is one of the finest big game rifles ever produced.
Exhibition English walnut stock with ebony forend tip, classic borderless point-pattern checkering wrapping around the forend, signature steel pistol grip cap, beaded cheekpiece, inletted swivel studs and solid black recoil pad. Controlled-feed action with jeweled bolt, Model 70-type safety and hinged straddle floorplate with release inside trigger guard. Pull: 13 5/8". Metal and Wood 98 %, like new condition, original owner. $5,500
