Description:
An extremely rare and desirable Confederate Cartridge block for the Colt Army Pistol that was made in Richmond Va. at the C.S. Laboratory (Browns Island) during the Civil War. The paper label is mostly intact with the text being very clear and readable. 4 of the 6 original unfired 44 caliber bullets remain in the block, the casings and powder would have deteriorated long ago. The cartridge hole has cracked on the one end but all the wood and label is there, an easy fix if so desired. These cartridge blocks seldom come along for sale and would be the highlight of a Civil War bullet collection. This rare C.S. cartridge block would be excellent for display alongside a Leech & Rigdon or Spiller and Burr revolver. This C.S. laboratory cartridge block came out of an estate in  the Northern Neck of Virginia. USPS Priority mail is 8.00
