At the time we acquired this gun, the former owner had left it stored for years in his inside gun vault. However, the gun was fouled with old lubricant that had dried. So we had our gunsmith tear it down and sonic clean the entire gun. His comments, after reassembling the gun, were that the gun, apart from some handling wear externally, was "as new" internally and was still on the first wear ring adjustment. The only modification to the way the gun had left the factory is the Pachmayr white outline concave recoil pad. If a straight recoil pad was used, the LOP would be 13.75". Midway between the muzzle and the end of the magazine tube, there are some light impact points to the right side of the rib. The metal retains easily 98%+ original finish. And the factory walnut stock, apart from being highly figured walnut, likewise retains 98% original finish with some apologies for some light scuff marks from handling.
