Payment Types Accepted: Credit Card, Cashiers Check Description: This is a very attractive example of the Beaumont Adams Model 1854 double action revolver manufactured during the decade preceding the American Civil War. These fine quality solid frame revolvers were as important to the history and development of the revolving handgun as were the designs of Samuel Colt. Marked on the top of the frame is "ADAMS & COMPy LONDON". The gun was converted to a .450 Adams ( Boxer) with a 5-shot cylinder probably just after the Civil War. The conversion is very well done but it is unknown just who did it, possibly Adams & Co. Serial number 17706 R. While it is difficult to date Adams revolvers from their serial numbers the way you can with Colt’s, it is safe to assume that this revolver was probably produced circa 1858-1859. Condition is fine with lots of finish remaining. It appears from the cylinder that it is unfired since it's conversion. This is one you'll look a long time to ever find again. SOLD Antique: Yes |
