Description:
Colt 3rd Model Dragoon shoulder stock variation c. 1859. Serial No. 16597 appears on the barrel ,frame, brass triggerguard and cylinder. Finish faded to a dark gray patina with areas of deep pitting. Full coverage foliate arabesque engraving with the presents of a wolfes head on each side of the hammer nose and the left side above the barrel near the wedge in the style of engraver Gustave Young. Mechanically appears functional but fails to properly lock up on a couple chambers.
