Description:
This is a Winchester First Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine in .44-40 with the thumbprint top cover. The serial number dates to 1875. The receiver has Good patina and shows freckling on large parts of the action and hammer. The barrel and magazine tube are in the same condition. The bore is pitted with visible rifling. Wood is in Good condition. The butt plate and upper tang are proud; so the butt stock may have been sanded.
