Description:
This is a Winchester 1873 rifle in .44-40. This rifle comes with a letter from the Cody Firearms Museum that shows it being received in the warehouse on December 31, 1874. It is shown as having a 28 inch octagon barrel, a set trigger, XXX checkered wood, and being casehardened. The receiver has the thumbprint cover and shows Very Good patina with only some freckling present on small areas. The barrel is Very Good with a shiny bore. The full length magazine tube is undented. The wood is Very Good with minor handling evident.
