The wood to metal fit is excellent and rifle doesn't show the wear that might be expected with age of gun. Stock has a very small nick at top midway back.No noticible scratches.No cracks. Rifle is 98 years old per Winchester published mfg. dates. Notice in the picture that the loading tube has normal metal color. BBl.is original blued.Action of receiver is solid and functions correctly. Rifle has not been used for about 40 years due to upgrading to modern rifles. It has been kept in gun safe and occasionally cleaned and oiled. When last used it shot and functioned correctly. The round shown in pictures chambered and ejected perfectly. Ejection was strong and the shell casing flew from rifle strongly. Did not fire the round as it was the only round seller had left. Bore is bright and shiny and rifling is present. No pitting seen. The wood to metal fit is excellent and rifle doesn't show wear expected with its age. Rifle is tight and solid with no looseness. Notice in the picture the forearm groves are well defined. Rifle is absent of visual parts wear expected if it had been abused or heavily used. No tool marks present. The serial number 622xxx matches on receiver and trigger assembly on this take down model.
