Description:
This .58 caliber Original - Model 1862 Springfield 3 Band - Musket has a tapered round 1-1/18" to 3/4" x 40" rifled barrel with a good bore and fitted with an adjustable folding 2 leaf rear sight. Stamped in the breech end of the barrel is 1862. The P grade Walnut stock is fitted with iron furniture, including the metal ramrod. The large military percussion lock with US Springfield 1862 and a spread eagle stamped on the lock plate, is activated by a single trigger.Please Note: The stock is sound except for wood carving in the butt by a previous owner. Light metal pitting on most of the metal parts with some deep pitting on the mid section of the barrel and middle barrel band. Length of pull is 13-1/2". Good wood to metal fit - made by the Springfield Armory. Condition: Good. This items stock number is P-24-27, please use this number when referencing this item.
