Description:
This 45-70 Trapdoor Springfield - Model 1878 rifle has a round tapered 1" to 3/4" x 32-1/2" barrel with a cvery good bore. The rifle has original sights with a P grade Walnut stock. The action has some color. Stamped on the lock plate is US Springfield and a spread eagle. The cartouche on the left side of the butt stock is unreadable. Stamped on the comb of the butt stock is H 38 61. The number 27 and US is stamped on the top of the butt plate. Behind the trigger guard is a faint P in a circle. Length of pull is 13-1/2". Please Note: Three notches have been cut in the underside of the stock just ahead of the rear band. Good wood to metal fit - made by Springfield Armory. Condition: Good. This items stock number is P-97-73, please use this number when referencing this item.
