Description:
SALE PENDING

HRA M1 Garand, serial number 55702xx, made about 1955. HRA 12-54 barrel with bright bore and sharp riflings. All metal parts in near mint condition. Stock is HRA with stars & eagle. No import marks. This rifle is in excellent used condition.

The gun has been disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Parts were clean for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled.   This Garand has been test fired, cycling through a clip with no issues, ejecting the clip at the end.  

Sling and two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo) are included, along with a canvas bandolier.  


 HRA M1 sn 55702xx Specs:

  •    Receiver: marked “6528291” on leg, heat lot “V”. Excellent condition, no scratches or gouges, absolutely no pitting. Parkerized finish in near perfect condition. Very little wear even in contact areas.

•    Barrel: marked “HRA 6353448 12-54 RS45” in op rod slot, with “P” and punch mark, “M”, “K”, and small stars and eagle. Chrome pads at gas port. Bore is bright as new, rifling and crown excellent, chamber in the white. External finish is nearly perfect.

•    Barrel Gauge Measurements: Muzzle Wear (MW): ¾, Throat Erosion (TE): 2

•    Clip latch: square front type, unmarked

•    Op rod: marked “6535382 HRA.”, no pitting, a little finish wear from contact. Op rod and bolt cycle freely by tilting when everything is assembled except main spring and hammer (Garands with binding or rubbing op rods tend to have feeding and/or ejecting problems).

•    Op rod catch: HRA/SA/IHC type, unmarked

•    Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked

•    Follower: late type, unmarked 

•    Follower arm: no bevel, unmarked

•    Follower rod: long fork, riveted, unmarked

•    Bolt: marked “658287 H.R.A UW 751”

•    Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip, unmarked

•    Elevation knob: marked “HRA”

•    Windage knob: marked “HRA-W”

•    Rear sight base: late SA/HRA type, unmarked

•    Rear sight aperture: SA/HRA type, double track 

•    Trigger housing:  marked “6528290-HRA N”. Small pad, cloverleaf hole, no pitting, nearly new condition

•    Trigger guard: stamped with milled hook

•    Trigger: late type, no extra hole

•    Hammer: marked “HRA 5546008”

•    Hammer spring plunger: postwar type, no wings

•    Safety: round top, marked “HRA”

•    Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring. Gas cylinder group finish is excellent. 

•    Front sight: 0.68 wide, unmarked

•    Gas cylinder lock: postwar high hump type

•    Gas cylinder lock screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “HRA O”

•    Stock: walnut, clearly HRA from thickness at pistol grip and the “horseshoe”. Markings are circled “P” on pistol grip, stars and eagle on left side, “416” on left side. No cracks, has dings from handling but far fewer than average.

•    Stock ferrule: no hole type

•    Handguards: walnut, no cracks, same condition as stock, good color match

•    Sling: used, common postwar type
