For sale is a Merkel 147e 20ga side by side shotgun. 28" barrels choked modified and improved cylinder. This gun has fired exactly two boxes of Winchester Super Target shells to check the pattern (patterns excellently) and remains in nearly mint condition. The screws are all perfect and have never been turned. The only discernible mark on the gun is a little scuff in the finish at the tip of the fore end, which can likely be polished out, since it appears to be in the finish only, not the wood. The bores are mirrors, lockup is tight, trigger pulls are crisp and light. Includes box and paperwork/owners manual. This is the model you want; side clips, cocking indicators, no disfiguring bolt through the stock head, double triggers, made in the early-mid 2000's, the prime years for a post-GDR Merkel. Beautifully executed deep relief hand engraving is signed by the master engraver. The game scenes are hares on the one side, partridge on the other. Measurements are approximately 14 1/2" LOP; 1 1/2" DAC; 2 1/4" DAH, and the stock is slightly cast-off for right handed shooters, about 1/4". Weight is about 6 pounds, but I do not have an accurate enough scale to give you an exact reading. My luggage scale is reading a hair under 6, for what it's worth, but that is not gospel.
