MODEL 1819 FLINTLOCK PISTOL
Model 1819 Flintlock Pistol made by Simeon North for the US Government. Has iron mountings, back strap, butt cap, etc. Marked Middlnconn, over an eagle on lock. Dated 1822, North marking mostly worn off, most of eagle and Middltinconn is clear as are other markingd.10” Barrel has standard US Government proof markings and a deep spade mark on top of BBL. This is the only U.S. martial pistol with a sliding safety bolt which locks the hammer at half cock. It is a unique feature of this model and needs adjustment . Touch hole may be rebushed. Wood has a few stress/age cracks, and one repair above left side plate, barrel metal is fairly clean and is has only light corrosion with a few small nicks near proof marks. .
