#3880 S&W No. 1 Third Issue Revolver, Engraved
This is the shorter barrel with 2 11/16” long barrel and appears to be factory engraved. The serial number is 3660. It retains between 75 and 80% frame and barrel nickel and the cylinder about 50% nickel. The mechanical function is very good, crisp and tight and the bore would be very good with strong rifling except for some fine corrosion from the black powder. The grips have over 65% varnish. The short barrel has the address on the left side of the barrel. The number is low so it was probably made between 1868 and 1870.
