Description:
Greifekt & Co. Drilling 16x16x8mmJR (Rimmed). Manufactured in Suhl, Germany. The drilling has a Greener style cross-bolt boxlock action featuring a scalloped, cased color receiver with modest engraving, double triggers with cocking indicators and extractors. There is a tang mounted, thumb actuated barrel/sight selector for the rifle barrel and a Greener side-mount safety. The sturdy action has a strong triple lock-up with the cross-bolt, 2 locking lumps and side-clips for a very tight fit between the receiver and the barrels. Sights include a tapered, matted rib with a low-profile front sight, and a thumb actuated low-profile flip-up rear sight. It sits flush with the rib, out of the way, for when the shotgun bores are in use, and flips up when shooting the rifle barrel. The stocks are of European walnut, they are checkered and the butt has a round knob grip with small European style cheekpiece, sling swivel and maker’s checkered hard rubber butt-plate. The forearm is a checkered splinter forend with Deeley pull-down release lever. Bore Condition: The shotgun bores and rifle bore are all very bright and shiny, and the rifling is very strong with sharp lands and grooves. Condition of the stocks: The butt-stock is in very good condition, has many old scratches, most are small, while others range from medium to large in length. All are very shallow and most do not stand out, but are visible by angling the stock to the light just right. Otherwise a sound gun stock. The forend has some scratches and dings, and there is a small, 3/8”, piece missing on the left side at the top and rear of the forend. Compare it to the right side. Condition of metal: There is some remaining case colors on the receiver and good blue over most of the barrels, with some fading near the breech.
