Description:
For sale is an interesting large bore percussian pocket pistol most likely 1800's European in origin.  The bore measures .566 inches making it .57 caliber.  That was considered a hand cannon then and today!  This pistol is completely unmarked other than what I assume is a serial number on the underside of the frame and barrel where the number 9 is stamped twice.  It has no makers name or mark anywhere that I can find.  As you can see in the pictures it has a nice patina to it but very little original bluing left on it.  Mechanically it is perfect and could be shot if the new owner should choose to.  The hammer has heavy spring pressure and the trigger works like it should with a heavy pull.  This is a very neat piece and unique in that it is such a large caliber.  I guess the maker went by the mantra that if you are only going to have one shot it better count!  This would be a great addition to an antique pistol collection or a great conversation/decorator piece.
