Description:

Sold Pending Funds / Colt M1860 United States Calvary Commemorative Set, This is a cased Pair of Colt Model 1860 2nd Generation Percussion Revolvers, serial # US 2546 & # 2546 US, 44 cal., with 8" barrels and excellent bores. Both of these revolvers retain about 99%+ original blue on the barrel, backstrap and cylinder with no visible turn ring. The sides of the barrel are marked "UNITED STATES CALVARY COMMEMORATIVE". The case-hardened colors on the frame, hammer and loading lever are Colt's usual breathtaking mix of blues, purples and straw with a few light operational marks on both guns. Both guns have brass trigger guard frames with light to moderate tarnish but overall in excellent condition. The smooth walnut one-piece grips with an inspector cartouche on both sides rate like new. All appropriate parts and the grips are correctly serial or assembly numbered to the guns. This beautiful set is displayed in a walnut presentation case with a brass plaque on the cover depicting a charging cavalryman and marked "UNITED STATES CAVALRY COMMEMORATIVE / 1777 - 1977". Also included in the blue velvet lined presentation case is an excellent condition wood shoulder stock with brass mounted hardware numbered "US 2546", dual cavity steel bullet mold cut for round ball and a conical ball with the sprue cutter marked Colts Patent, powder flask, combination nipple wrench and screwdriver, "Colt" marked metal cap tin, manual and paperwork, no case key is included. This set appears unused, will make a great addition to any Colt collection. Inv.: # 12-138 / 12-139
