Description:
Ithaca, Victoria Grade, Beyond Sousa Grade, made by Walter Kalouch who purchased barreled actions from Ithaca Gun Works, built less than 5 of this guns, 12ga, single barrel trap, 2 3/4", 32" extra full barrel, Monte Carlo stock, 14 5/8" length of pull, wood figured burl walnut, right hand palm swell, skip line checkering with engraving scroll boarders, steel pistol grip cap w/ gold wire border and scroll, receiver tang fully engraved with scroll, lever fully engraved with carved squirrel, receiver has 3 gold quail flushing and a setter with trees and gold inlays of 4 mallards with pond and woods, bottom receiver has gold setter head and 2 pigeons (1 sitting & 1 flying), trigger guard fully engraved, barrel engraved 3" both sides with fine scroll down first 5 1/2" of rib on both sides, muzzle also has some engraving, double ivory beads, beaver tall forearm. This is a beautiful gun beyond Sousa grade with 10 gold inlays & 1 silver inlay. I believe it was made in the 30's, hard case, action 2 5//8" high, weight of gun is 8lb.10oz. I cannot find any flaws on the scroll engraving on wood. Receiver, Barrel and Forearm are all marked with No. 4., excellent condition it does not show any signs of being used. I have two of single barrel trap guns in my possession and to be able to compare the quality and the embellishments between the two guns is incredible. The Victoria grade gun appears to have double the amount of detail and work although the other one has 2 barrels and extra stocks the Victoria grade is truly magnificent.
