WEST VIRGINIA PERCUSSION HALF STOCK RIFLE CIRCA 1850. .45 cal. rifled octagon 36” unsigned barrel. Cherry stock with brass mounts and patchbox with acorn patchbox. Distinctive brass “Keyhole” side plate and extended side plate and lock plate moldings on stock typical of West Virginia rifles of the period. “Acorn” finial patchbox also seen on many rifles from the area as well. Double set triggers and hickory ramrod. Original patina overall with lock and triggers in working order. Very good bore with good rifling.
