Description:
Serial #46153Y, .303 British, 25” barrel with a fair bore that has moderate pitting and flaking within the grooves. This is a 1946 dated, import marked rifle that has a matching number on the nosecap but the bolt is numbered to a different gun. The metal has a general dull gray-brown patina with scattered mild freckling while the bolt and magazine retain 90% plus of the black Suncorite finish that has flaked along some of the high edges and contact points. The brass buttplate has a dark yellow-ochre patina and the stock compartment is empty. The forend and handguards are in good-very good shape with light-moderate handling marks and surface blemishes while the copper wire wraps are intact and the Ishapore bolt is relatively bright. The buttstock also has scattered bruises and blemishes, heaviest at the buttplate, and a small arsenal repair at the heel of the butt and the remnants of a no longer legible rack number painted in white on the right side. This is a nice looking Ishapore grenade rifle and is in fine condition overall. FFL or C&R
