This "Moll" signed rifle was made in Allentown, PA. around 1850. It is .32 caliber and was crafted by John Moll of the famous Moll family from eastern Pennsylvania. It has a 40 inch rifled barrel and a very well executed walnut stock with an engraved four-piece patchbox. Everything works as it should on this rifle, from the patchbox latch and spring loaded door to the double set triggers. This all original rifle is in excellent condition, even the bore would be considered very fine. In fact, the person that we purchased the rifle from had recently shot it and reported that it was still extremely accurate. Original Pennsylvania rifles of this maker and vintage are very hard to find in such great condition. Moll made rifles were used and typically had hard lives taking game for the table, shot in matches, and protecting the owner and their family. They typically were not wall hanging decorations at that time but deserve to be now! This is a chance to get a real piece of American and Pennsylvania history!
