Description:
Allen and Thurber Pepperbox. Worcester production, .31 cal., 6 shot, fluted barrel with engraved, separately affixed, engraved nipple shield. 3 3/4" bbl. address:Allen and Thurber Worcester. Allen's Patent/1845 apppears sharply on left side of hammer, which still retains it's blue finish. Main frame is engraved on both sides. all metat parts except hammer are a gray patina. Walnut grips; left grip retains 60% original finish, right grip is worn more and cracked from above grip nut to bottom of grip. Rear of the right grip is worn so it does not meat the top edge of the backstrap. Grip screw possibly a replacement. Mechanically perfect, with some dents on barrel (see bottom photo). Flayderman 5A-039. Overall a nice piece. $550 OBO plus S&H.
