Description:
Winchester 1890 takedown rifle in .22 long. Rifle has a 24" octagonal barrel.Overall condition is very good, with even bronish patina on the metal surfaces. Barrel address is; New Haven, Conn., USA. Patent dates are; June 26, 88 and Dec. 6, 92. Rear sight patent date is; Jan, 29, 1901. Winchester model and trade mark inscriptions on the rear tang are crisp and clear. Wood is in very good condition. The fore end is in great shape, with very minor wear from use and handling. The butt stock has a few mars and dings, but no chips, or breaks. The stock is nice and solid. The takedown feature works flawlessly. It has a couple of screws that need to be tightened, to be flush, and it appears to need one screw in the top cover. The bore is lightly frosted, but retains some shine and has very solid rifling. Action is nice and tight. This is a very shootable rifle.
