Description:
1906 Parker Brothers VH in 16 gauge. Shotgun features 28" Vulcan Steel barrels with a brass bead front sight. Barrels retain very little of their original blue, but have a very even gray patina. Receiver and trigger guard retain very little of their original case coloring and blue, but have an even gray patina. The fore end wood is in very good condition, with no chips, cracks or split. The fore end checkering is still crisp, toward the front, but has been worn down from use toward the back. The butt stock is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks. it has 2 verticle dings, on the right side, behind the pistol grip - one, about 1" and the other about 1.5" long. the butt stock, aslo features a period correct "Anti-Flinch" orange recoil pad, made by the JOSTAM Manufacturing Company - Chicago, IL, with 1914, 1915, and 1927 Patent date. The pad is not collapsed. I have had the top lever spring replaced, by my gunsmith, with a Parker spring. Action and lock up is nice and tight, however the lever sticks right when the barrels are closed and needs to be lightly tapped to lock back to center. Gunsmith says that this will work itself out from use. Bores are bright and shiny. Unstruck barrel weight is 3.6 pounds. Chambers are 2 9/16". Chokes are: left - Full, right - Improved Modified. Gun is a 1 frame. Front trigger LOP is 13 3/4", rear is 12 3/4". Drop at heel is 3" and drop at comb is 1 3/4". This is a nice 16 gauge Parker with a lot of life left.
