Payment Types Accepted: check, credit cards (3% fee) Description: This is a British military Light Dragoon pistol Pattern of 1759, with a 9", 67 cal. barrel. Manufactured after 1764 as it has no maker or date on the lockplate. The issue date is the storekeepers mark with the date 1786 visible behind the plateau. The lockplate markings are clear and include a crown over GR, with a broad arrow forward of that, and a TOWER in a slight arc behind the hammer. Two British proofs on the top of the breech, and a W followed by another letter only partially visible on the left of the breech. A very sharp WF struck into the wood behind the sideplate. The screw for the frizzen comes in from the outside, and the hammer comb is a slab style - both indicators of a later rather than early production of this Model. This gun appears completely honest and original, with the exception of the ramrod. There is a small split starting at the tail of the lockplate which has been secured with a pin. This is visible in the photos. This is a really nice original example of the Pattern of 1759 Light Dragoon pistol. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Tower Model: 1759 Caliber Info: 67 |
