Description:
Serial #282316, .25 ACP, 2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This pistol was made in 1921 originally, but was embellished later by Colt Master Engraver George B. Spring. The pistol has a dark blue finish with extensive gold inlays on both the frame and slide. The inlays are an attractive mix of floral scrollwork and narrow, linear borders with touches of very fine crosshatch engraving added for visual depth. Additionally, the barrel, extractor, safety, grip safety, and magazine release are fully plated in gold as well. Smooth ivory grip panels are fitted which have a mellow, age-toned color, and a single magazine, which has a fine gold border around the floorplate markings, is included. The pistol is signed in crisp capitals on the right side of the frame: “SPRING”. This is a splendid pistol that was engraved and gold-filled by one of Colt's finest 20th century engravers and would make a spectacular addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
