Description:
NSN, .50 CF, 36 5/8” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a truly handsome rifle that retains 80-85% of the original blue finish on the breechblock assembly, while the 1864 dated lockplate has 95-97% of the original color case-hardening remaining, and only traces of gray fading starting to form along the edges. The barrel and bands have retained most of their original arsenal bright finish, but there are scattered small spots of dark freckling as well. The walnut stock has the original oil finish and is in excellent condition with crisp and clear cartouches, as well as the woodgrain open and pronounced. The rifle comes with a correct, lightly freckled, ramrod, and an excellent, original leather sling. This is a simply excellent example of a desirable 2nd Model Allin Conversion, that has retained an unusually high degree of original finish. Antique
