Springfield M1-C Sniper. CMP Cal. .30-06, Ser. 33736XX.
This CMP with Letter of Authenticity M1-C has a 1 of 45 manufacture date, 3 of 53 barrel date.
All parts are correct and proper for the gun. It has a beautiful dark Parkerized finish which is about 92+%. The only loss seems to be a slight surface staining on the left side of the receiver and another small patch on the right. There is no rust, scratches, pits or rub marks anywhere.
The stock is in wonderful condition. The color match is really quite nice. The wood seems to have held at least 95% of the original factory finish. There are no nicks, dings or splits anywhere. The left side is stamped, Boxed S.A. over GAW and next to it, the Crossed Cannons Ordinance stamp.
The pistol grip has a Circle P proof. The right side of the the stock, under the cheek piece there is an "open box SA". The Griffin & Howe scope rail is serial #3617650. The ring mount is numbered 3619930. These parts are all correct and registered in David Mc Clain's Directory of M1C sniper part serial numbers. The scope retains about 95% of the original blue. The loss is from some slight surface thinning, a few scratches and some slight silvering of the sharp edges. The optics are crystal clear and in perfect working order. The single post reticle is perfect. The "Telescope M-82" is serial numbered 38115.
The Cone flash hider, which is in gorgeous condition, is stamped Flash Hider M-2, H in a Diamond and The Hart Mfg. Co. The cheek piece, which is in really great condition, is stamped MRT 2-52. The bore is super, mirror bright, with razor sharp rifling. Not a hint of frosting.
The muzzle gauges a 1 and the throat gauges a 2. The gun comes with one proper G.I Sling. You would be hard pressed to find a nicer example of an M1C for.... $7950.
