This fantastic Texas tribute rifle came in with several other firearms on consignment. It is a Hunting Heritage Trust special edition rifle that features a gold-inlaid base plate with “2007 TEXAS Opening Day” and “Hunting Heritage Number 1”. This is one of only two Texas rifles made during this special run.
The rest of the rifle is a standard Ruger model M77 Hawkeye (model # 07107) which is in unfired, new condition. Comes with everything original to the Ruger package. Ruger box has some slight damage to one end and rifle has a few very slight handling marks.

The inaugural 2007 edition features the Ruger M77 Hawkeye and will be limited to only two rifles per state. The guns will be available exclusively on the popular internet site .

While the 2007 "Opening Day" edition celebrates the opening day for whitetail deer, additional editions are planned in recognition of waterfowl, turkey, dove and other traditional opening days. The Hunting Heritage Trust looks forward to partnering with other manufacturers and organizations on future opening day projects.
The Ruger M77 Hawkeye was selected to carry the theme for the whitetail deer opening day tribute. The M77 has a very special heritage of its own, having accompanied many hunters on opening day deer hunts since its introduction nearly two decades ago. The rifle is chambered in the traditional .270 caliber, a favorite of millions of deer hunters. The rifle features a specially engraved floorplate highlighting a traditional whitetail deer hunting scene.
