BRILLIANT ORIGINAL WINCHESTER MODEL 1895 .405 WIN LEVER ACTION RIFLE, CIRCA 1906. Serial number "602XX". Prime original example with 24" round tapered barrel with factory front and rear sights. Screws mint and unturned. 99% original blue on frame, barrel, lever(balance from handling-typical fading to plum). Original crescent steel buttplate blue fading to gray with mint screws as well. Original Winchester sling swivels and studs with leather sling. Original Winchester factory buttstock and forend with very little signs of carry or wear and original stock finish. Schnabel forend with ebony forend cap. This rifle manufactured in 1906, two years after the .405Win was introduced for the 1895 and highly regarded by Teddy Roosevelt especially on safari in Africa for big game. The 1895 in .405Win was considered his "medicine gun" for lions. Brilliant example.
