Description:
Circa 1840's-50's. Blunderbusses come in various sizes and this one would probably be considered a belt gun or one hand carry gun. It is a bit over 20" overall length. It has a rather exaggerated blunderbuss flare to the muzzle being about 2". This tapers down to about a 20 bore. Damascus pattern is very visible on the bbl along with some exotic looking silver colored inlays. Real silver? Very nicely done. The rest of the furniture is also this silver color material including side plate, trigger guard and buttplate. On the sideplate is a lanyard loop. Frizzen does operate as do the hammer and trigger. It is very hard to pull to cock it. The whole gun is in relatively good cond. The wood is surprisingly quite nice. There is a chunk missing on the right side towards the muzzle. All blunderbusses are cool looking and this is no exception!
